- What makes our Heavy-Duty Fire Pits different? First, these are made in America, by Americans with young families in our shop in East Texas. Second, we use heavy gauge steel that is welded. No assembly is required on your part! All of our pits are a minimum of 3/16 (.188) thickness. See the difference
- Will my fire pit get hot? Yes. When a fire is built in the fire pit it gets hot (that's sort of the point). In all seriousness, depending on the size of fire that you build, all metal and surfaces in contact with the fire pit can get extremely hot. Always use extreme caution around any fire!
- Does the grill top swivel? Yes. Our grill tops swivel 360 degrees, adjust up and down, and are completely removable.
- Is the grill top adjustable? Yes. Each grill top has three (3) adjustments. The grill top is held in place with a stainless steel pin (included with each pit) for easy adjustment.
- Will your fire pit rust? Yes. However, they won't rust out. Our heavy-duty outdoor fire pits are made from carbon steel and, when exposed to the elements, they will rust. Buy our Stove Bright paint to keep your pit looking new for years to come.
-Can I put my pit on a wood deck? If you're setting your pit on any surface that isn't rock, concrete, stone, brick, or similar material, we recommend placing your pit on a large piece of flagstone. Depending on the size of your fire, the entire pit can get extremely hot! Proceed with caution! Build fires slowly to ensure the surface and surrounding areas are safe.
- Will the paint come off? In many cases, yes. Sometimes, during the first use, you will have bubbling, cracking, or flaking paint on the sides and bottom of the fire pit. We recommend using it several times before attempting to touch up any affected areas with Stove Bright aerosol spray paint.
- How do I keep it looking new? You will need five (5) items: wire brush, scoop shovel, water hose, broom, and Stove Bright aerosol spray paint. If there's any ash in the pit, hose it down generously. Scoop ashes into a bucket. Hose down the inside and outside of the heavy-duty fire pit, removing dirt and debris. Let it dry and then wire brush any loose, peeling, or flaking paint. Then use your broom to dust everything off. Be sure all surfaces are clean and dry. Set your Heavy-Duty Fire Pit up in a well ventilated area (outside is best), protecting the surrounding surfaces for painting. Following the directions on the Stove Bright aerosol paint can, touch up the affected areas or paint the entire pit and make it look like new again. Most outdoor fire pits can be totally repainted with 3-4 cans.
- What kind of wood or charcoal can I use in my Heavy-Duty Fire Pit? Any wood or charcoal you prefer. Don't worry, you will not damage the fire pit. We use a lot of oak because it's readily available in our area. Whatever you prefer to use is fine.
- Who makes Heavy-Duty Fire Pits? We do! We're a small company in East Texas. Seven of us, to be exact. We work super hard every day to serve our customers and make outdoor fire pits that you don't throw away!
- How deep are the shallow fire pits? The shallow fire pits are approximately 8-9 inches deep.
- How deep are the deep fire pits? The deep 30-inch fire pits are approximately 13-14 inches deep, and the 37-inch and 42-inch fire pits are 18 inches deep.
